Our fantastic arts centre hosts familiar names from theatre, music, dance and comedy as part of its 2010 programme. Of particular note in the coming months is the visit of Courtney Pine, world famous saxophonist, on February 5th, comedians John Bishop, Richard Herring and Arthur Smith in March and April and some great theatre throughout the year. Basil Beattie Exhibition (b.1935) - 22nd January to 6th March
'One of the most significant of bridges in the generations of contemporary abstract painters'. His career spans the emergence of Abstract Expressionism in the late 1950s to a more recent emphasis on the ambiguities of signification that have dominated visual art practice since the 1980s.
