Well we finally got to tell the rest of the world about our 4 star achievement last week.
We've been keeping it all quiet until we had a good photo opportunity with all the awards we've won so far this year - Best Western Best Conference Venue, Best Western Plus grading, Green Tourism Gold, 4 star status and retaining our two AA rosettes - so when we were all together for our annual budget setting day the photographer was booked!
Once we had the photo we could send out the press release. First people to respond were our local station, Lakeland Radio - could Tim be available at 11am to pre-record an interview for the one o'clock news? Of course says I and went to find the man in question.
BUT there was no response from his office, no-one had seen him, if he didn't make an appearance soon it would have to be me!! Then I remembered he was viewing the local secondary school for when his daughter starts school next year so after a few hurried texts confirming he'd be back I breathed a sign of relief.
Tim duly did his stuff, tried to make sure he got everything in promoting all our facilities and appeared beaming back at my desk. Now all we had to do was wait until one o'clock to hear it.
He eventually came on at 1.20pm after The Stone Roses, Fool's Gold track, one of his favourites and he was on ages, basically because he didn't give them a chance to get a word in!!
