We were the proud hosts of a Help the Heroes Ball on Friday 19th November which raised a fantastic £39,000 for the charity.
Julia Baker, our very own Wedding & Events Co-ordinator, was on the committee along with Charlotte, Casson, Judy Rayner, Loretta Blackburn & Affra Hartree.
Guests were welcomed by two pipers and a Champagne Reception in our Kendal Suite with music by Sedbergh School Band where they had the option to enter the silent auction for such prizes as a day at Horseguards Parade in London - which Julia bidded for and won!
Then guests moved to our Function House which was suitably dressed with our chair covers with blue, red and light blue chair bows, union jack balloons and beautiful flower arrangements.
Dinner of smoked salmon, Cumbrian chump of lamb with fondant potatoes, broad beans and roasted parsnips and sticky toffee pudding was well received and served by some of our staff in army combats to add to the occasion.
It was a superb evening for everyone one involved with a fantastic fund raising atmosphere which raised well over the organisers initial hopes of £30,000.
Many thanks to the local community for their generous donations and prizes - it's a little too soon for Julia to sign up to the same again next year but we'll keep you informed!
