January always brings a bit of a spring clean here at the hotel but this time we thought we'd shake it up a bit. So Tim got his cheque book out, agreed to shut the hotel for a whole week and Maintenance Peter and a whole army of contractors set to work.
First to change was the hotel entrance, with it's new block work pillars, console tables with lamps and softer lighting. The building itself can really give you that warm welcome that the staff have become famous for.
Next we moved onto Reception where Gail and her team have finally got their granite reception desk - it's only taken 15 years! She also has posh lamps, new wallpaper and a glass privacy screen to hide all our back office stuff.
Finally we moved into the toilets! Now these are something you don't usually discuss on a hotel website! A feature we need to have but not necessarily featured in the hotel brochure or photo gallery! Well couldn't resist putting this photo up for you as they are so nice. The gents are blue (if you're asking) they're a bit lost on them, but that's fellas for you!
