In the recent Sunday Times survey Kendal was voted as the second best place to live only piped by Stamford in Lincolnshire.
According to the paper, Kendal has ' superlative shopping, bags of community spirit and an enviable location'.
We like to think we contribute to this, as an employer of over 100 local people with no live-in accommodation. We have a budget of £2,000 per year to provide prizes for our local clubs, societies and charitable organisations and have also had a policy of buying local long before it was trendy to do so.
So if you didn't have a reason to come back and visit the best hotel in the second best town in the country, I think that about sums it up!
