February is a month for dining out because, we did it! Dry January, Red January, all round a well behaved January. Now we deserve a treat, right?
Whether you are a local seeking a special meal out with friends or family or a hotel guest wanting to make the most out of your trip, our stunning Greenhouse restaurant will certainly have something for you. We are proud of our unique dining experience that offers the best of Cumbrian Cuisine in a contemporary environment.
The restaurant is set in a light bright flexible space, with a glass wall that perfectly frames the hotel gardens, kendal town and the fells beyond. This combined with the open kitchen set up makes for a great spectacle, mesmerizing and relaxing to watch.
Now the food, well it is utterly delicious fine dining! Our Executive Chef Justin and team boast two AA Rosettes and are always working to come up with new locally sourced creative dishes. If you are someone who struggles to decide on what to go for, you should opt for the 5 course taster menu, with an optional wine flight which is perfectly matched to each course.
To give you a flavour of the taster menu here are a couple of our favourite dishes! The pan fried breast of Cartmel Valley Wood Pigeon, cauliflower puree, bacon jam, pomegranate with pickled shallots is an amazing mix of unique yet complimentary flavours, and the perfect warm up to the following course. The loin of Cumbrian Lamb, braised shoulder, celeriac puree, salt baked swede, potato and swede gratin, creamed cabbage and brussel sprouts showcases traditional British favourite ingredients at their absolute best, hearty, warming and full of flavour!
