Prepare yourself! September is looking to be a jam-packed month of unmissable events, celebrating culture, nature, and all things life in the Lake District.

Lakes Alive - September 6th - 8th

Kicking off the month is Lakes Alive, a free festival of contemporary art and making, in Kendal. This annual festival presents the Lake District in all its glory, highlighting the people, the culture, and the landscape. They encourage audience participation in their experimental and traditional multi-disciplinary art demonstrations; all because they aim to bring the Lakes to life through nurturing local talent.

Westmorland County Show - September 12th

Winner of the Tourism Event of the Year in Cumbria Award 2018, the Westmorland County Show hosts up to 30,000 people per year. Organised by the Westmorland County Agricultural Society, the show is home to a variety of things to do. Find artisan chocolate, cheese, pies and much more in the largest local food hall; or pop into the Learning for Life Marquee where you can test your knowledge with interactive displays. Even visit the range of life stock coming to the show, including but not limited to sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, horses, and even alpacas. It’s a fun day out for the whole family!

Wedding Venue Showcase - September 15th 1pm - 3pm

Kendal Torchlight Carnival - September 27th from 7.30pm

Kendal's annual street parade with carnival floats from community groups, marching bands, dancers & classic cars which has been entering the town for over 40 years.  This year's theme is Made in the Lakes so expect nods to our cultural heritage of Beatrix Potter, Wainwright, Postman Pat and Wordsworth!  Roads close from 6pm so if you're arriving on this night Reception can guide you around teh road closures!
